Gyaru is a Japanese fashon subculture that has elevated over the years. Gyaru is a Japanese transliteration of the English slang word gal, and many gyarus call themselves that.

Gyarus or gals is fairly gender neutral but the masculine version is "gyaruo"! Its known for being nonconformist and rebelling against Asian beauty standards. That doesn't have to be your motivation for being a gal though! Gyaru fashon includes dramatic makeup, fake eyelashes, tanned skin, and hair extensions.
